You will want to be assured that your child will reach its full potential in a happy, caring and nurturing environment which develops high self esteem in each child. We have high expectations and are committed to providing a wide, challenging and balanced education which meets the needs of each child. Our staff are enthusiastic and dedicated to providing the very best standards in teaching and learning. We value the opportunity to welcome you to our school. We are confident that you will find here, a community where standards of behaviour and respect for others are given high priority, and an environment where children are motivated, happy and eager to learn. Knaphill Lower School was in February 2007 inspected by OFSTED and awarded the Grade of OUTSTANDING in every educational element:- achievement and standards, personal development and well being, teaching and learning, curriculum and other activities, care, guidance and support and leadership and management. It was, also, an accolade to be proposed, recently, for the project - Sustaining Success, Leading Edge School Development. Under the Department of Education and Skills we will progress the "Every Child Matters Agenda" and share the outcomes with other schools. We look forward to welcoming your child and yourselves to our school and community. Angela Kalfayan, Headteacher CHILDREN'S FOOD FESTIVAL PUTS KIDS IN CHARGE OF THE DOUGH If your children turn their noses up at everything you offer them at mealtimes, then the Children's Food Festival is for you - or rather for them. This celebration of food and cooking is designed to turn fussies into foodies and is devoted entirely to young people. Adults will have fun too, but this is one occasion where the kids are in charge of the dough. Click here for more information. The PTA has registered with an online shopping portal called easyfundraising.org.uk This will provide a welcome boost to PTA funds but the size of the boost depends on how many of us use the portal. It is completely free to use. Once at the site online you'll need to register as a user, select the cause you're supporting (Knaphill Schools PTA) and then login to start shopping. Choose from over 500 retailers of the UK's best-known retailers including many popular names such as NEXT, Amazon, Debenhams, John Lewis and HMV, and when you shop using the links on the site up to 15% from every purchase you make is donated to the cause you've selected. (NOTE: there are some important suggestions on the site regarding Norton Internet Security and Browser setting) - so please register to buy online with easyfundraising and pass on the message to grandparents and friends! As an added bonus the same site can give you access to a search engine powered by Yahoo!
