PLANNING

Note: this is extracted from the School Prospectus - click on the link on the left for the full text.

We believe that children make maximum progress in learning through good planning, high quality teaching, informative assessment and record keeping. We set targets, monitor and track children's progress. Teachers assess children's attainment individually, in groups and as a whole class. Children's work is sampled and assessed on a regular basis.

There are statutory teacher assessments within the Foundation Stage and in Year 2.

To track the progress of all children effectively and support individual target setting, we have developed assessments in all year groups to monitor progress.

All work is carefully planned on a yearly, termly, weekly and daily basis and parents receive Newsletters and letters informing them of the work their child will undertake each term.

Whenever possible, subjects are taught in cross-curricular topics to give a purpose to the learning.
